A 23-year-old woman will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 15 January charged with hit and run causing serious harm.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant John Worrall of the Major Crash Investigation Section said a 70-year-old woman was stuck by a car just before 1:30am on Friday 23 November and found lying in an outbound lane of Chung Wah Terrace between Temple Terrace and Rolyat Street.

“She was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

“The 23 year old driver handed herself in to police late on Friday afternoon.  She was interviewed by Major Crash investigators before being charged and released on bail to appear in Court.”
