Hit and Run Fatal Humpty Doo Update

A 37-year-old woman is in Police custody assisting with enquiries in relation to the hit and run which occurred on Zamia Road in Humpty Doo, Sunday morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant John Worrall said the woman was located last night in Jingili, along with the car police allege was involved in the hit and run.

The car was seized and transported to the Peter McAulay Centre for examination.  

“The 37-year-old woman and a number of witnesses have been spoken to today as investigations continue,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Worrall said.

“It appears the male victim, who is yet to be formally identified, on the roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle, which has then left the scene.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated and Police urge anyone who may have been in the Zamia Road area around 3:30am Sunday, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
