Guns and Cash Stolen - Berrimah

Officers attached to Operation Trident are investigating the theft of five firearms and a large sum of money from a business premises in Berrimah overnight.

About 0530 this morning, Police received a report the business had been unlawfully entered after a side door had been forced open.

“It appears a gun safe has been broken into and five rifles stolen.” Said Acting Commander Matt Hollamby of the Darwin Metropolitan Command.

“A substantial amount of cash, which was also secured in the safe, was removed.”

“The safety of the public is our major concern, we will work around the clock to recover the stolen weapons and get them off the streets.”
