Five Arrested for Unlawful Entries Darwin

Police from the Darwin Tactical Team have arrested five people for a series of unlawful entries in Darwin, the Northern Suburbs and Palmerston.

The Officer in Charge of the Darwin Tactical Team, Sergeant Kaye Pemberton, said the unlawful entries occurred between May 21 and 26.

“Police allege that four men, 25, 28, 42 and 30, and a 26-year-old woman have committed numerous offences, stealing property that included wallets, cash, jewellery, mobile phones, laptops, iPads, iPods and sunglasses,” Sergeant Pemberton said.

“Two of males and the female have been charged with a number of property offences that include unlawful entry, stealing and possess stolen property. 

“The remaining two were arrested for outstanding warrants in relation to breach of court orders.  Both men appeared in court and have been remanded to Thursday. They will spoken to by police and charged with their involvement.

“Two of the men, 25 and 28, and the woman were charged with:

Unlawful entry (x3);

Stealing (x3);

Stealing from a motor vehicle;

Possess stolen property (x4);

Trespass on premises; and

Possess house breaking implement.

“Police expect to lay further charges in the coming weeks.”

Meanwhile in a separate investigation Police have located 759 packets of lures stolen from a car parked in Bayview.

“The lures, worth around $12,000, were found in skip bin behind Richardson Park by a member of the public who reported the discovery to Police,” Sergeant Pemberton said.

“Police will use forensic evidence to try and find the person who dumped the lures.

“We would also like any member of the public with information to come forward. Perhaps you were near the area between Thursday, 17 May and 10.45am, Monday 28 May 2012 and saw someone.
