Police are investigating the cause of a fatal rollover near Erldunda which occurred on the Stuart Highway today.

Members travelling along the highway came across the crash approximately 160 kms south of Alice Springs at around 12:45 pm.

Sergeant Martin Astridge said the male passenger was located deceased at the scene.

“The female driver received minor injuries and is currently assisting Police with enquiries,” Sergeant Astridge said.

“Major Crash Investigators from Alice Springs are currently travelling to the scene. Police urge all drivers to use caution or to avoid the area if possible as investigations are underway.”

This now takes the NT road toll to four compared to zero for the same period last year.
