The Territory road toll has risen to 19 following a rollover in Ali Curung overnight.

Watch Commander Darrell Kerr said Police received the report of a rollover on the Stuart Highway near the turn off to Singleton Station at 9:49 pm.

“Members from Ali Curung attended the scene as well as Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance members from Tennant Creek.

“The male driver of the Toyota Landcruiser died as a result of the crash. The sole male passenger sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

“Investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing,” said Watch Commander Kerr.

This now takes the Territory road toll to 19 compared to 11 for the same period last year.
