A man in his early fifties has died following a single vehicle rollover on the Stuart Highway this afternoon.

Acting Senior Sergeant John Worrall from the Major Crash Investigation Section said the man passed away despite best efforts of Emergency Personnel.

“It has been a terrible few weeks on our roads.  We can’t stress enough for drivers to slow down and drive to conditions.  There is another family tonight waiting for a loved one to come home who never will.”

Acting Senior Sergeant Worrall said investigations into this latest crash are continuing.

The Road Toll now stands at 29 compared to 23 at the same time last year
