Fatal Crash - Anmatjere

Police

The Northern Territory road toll now stands at 30 following a single vehicle crash this afternoon.

Watch Commander Peter Malley said the crash occurred on the Plenty Highway, approximately 15 kilometres east of the Sandover Highway intersection, at around 3:00pm.

“Police received the report of a single vehicle rollover from a passing motorist. The vehicle was towing a small caravan at the time of the crash,” said Watch Commander Malley.

“Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance members attended the scene. The male passenger died at the scene as a result of the crash and the female driver has since been taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

“An investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash is continuing and a file will be prepared for the coroner”.

This now takes the NT road toll to 30 compared to 23 for the same period last year.
