Drug Bust - Moulden

Police

A 34-year-old man will appear in court today to face drug possession charges.

Detectives of the Drug and Organised Crime Squad seized around 570 grams of cannabis and around 5 grams of amphetamines from a house in Moulden yesterday afternoon.

Detective A/Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer of the Drug and Organised Crime Squad said a quantity of the drugs were located in a boat belonging to the alleged offender.

“Detectives seized the alleged offender’s boat and $11, 355 worth of cash during the operation” said Detective A/Senior Sergeant Stringer.

The offender has been charged with:

Possess Cannabis – Commercial quantity

Possess Methamphetamine – Trafficable quantity

Receive Property – Commission of offence.

In an unrelated investigation, Detectives arrested and charged a 57-year-old man yesterday morning.

Police executed a search warrant at the mans property in Livingstone and discovered a hydroponics set up, four large mature cannabis plants, 270 grams of cannabis head and a bag of edible cannabis products.

The offender has been charged with:

Possess Cannabis – Trafficable quantity

Cultivate Cannabis – Trafficable quantity.

The man has been released on bail and is due to appear in court at a later date. 

Detective A/Senior Sergeant Stringer said we will continue to investigate and prosecute people involved in the production and distribution of illicit drugs in the community.
