Southern Traffic Operation Officers have arrested a man 80 kilometres north of Alice Springs after he was clocked travelling at 169 kilometres per hour.
Sergeant Conan Robertson said the man consequently returned a positive breath test as well.
“The man blew 0.125 per cent,” Sergeant Conan said.
“He was booked for a mid-range alcohol offence, booked for speeding and then booked for driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle.
“The man was also driving whilst disqualified.”
Sergeant Robertson said the man had failed four of the five most common causes of injuries on the roads:
1. Speeding
2. Drink Driving
3. Fatigue
4. Inattention
“He was at least wearing a seatbelt.”
