Disturbance Arrest - Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police have this afternoon arrested one woman and are seeking the whereabouts of another, who are alleged to have attacked a camera crew and damaged property at an inner city hotel.

Police were called to the Aurora Hotel about 1830 last night, with complaints the women were damaging property in the reception and had assaulted hotel staff.

The Sydney-based camera crew had barricaded themselves in a baggage storage room.

“Police today reviewed CCTV footage of the incident and have arrested a 26-year-old woman who is helping Police with inquiries.” Said Superintendent Michael Potts.

“Initial investigations suggest the camera crew were filming people in the Todd River bed in the lead-up to the incident.”

“Fortunately the staff assaulted were shaken but not seriously injured.” Said Supt Potts.

The investigation is continuing.
