Police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man following a disturbance in Wadeye on Tuesday 11 September 2012.

Superintendent Daniel Bacon said it is alleged that an altercation occurred between two men shortly after 3:00 am.

“Both men were taken to the local clinic where they received treatment for their injuries. Shortly after 1:00 pm on Wednesday 12 September, the 30-year-old man was airlifted to the Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment,” said Superintendent Bacon.

“The 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and unlawfully cause serious harm. He is expected to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on 27 September 2012.

“Yesterday afternoon Police were advised that the 30-year-old man had passed away. Further charges are expected to be considered following his death and investigations are continuing.”
