Detectives from Major Crime and the Southern Investigations Division are investigating the suspicious death of a woman in Alice Springs.

Police were called to the Lovegrove Drive premises just before midday today.

“Upon arrival the body of a woman was found deceased inside the house.” said Detective Acting Superintendent Travis Wurst.

“The woman has suffered injuries that may have lead to her death but it’s too early to determine what caused her death.  An autopsy will be carried out to determine the cause of death in the near future."

“A crime scene has been established and Detectives and Forensic Officers are combing the area to determine events.” Said Det Act Supt Wurst.

Lovegrove Drive is currently blocked off to all traffic as part of the investigation and there are diversions in place around Spicer Crescent. Police urge motorists to avoid this area if possible and to be patient with the Police investigation.
