The NT Police Coronial Investigation Unit will prepare a report for the Coroner after the death of a man at the bottom of the cliffs on the Esplanade this morning.

Acting Sergeant Samantha Harrison said Police received the report of the man’s death shortly after 6:00 am.

“The man was located in a small makeshift camp in the bottom of the cliffs near Peel Street.

“We do not believe the death of the 49-year-old man to be suspicious at this time, however investigations are continuing,” said Acting Sergeant Harrison.

Police are investigating the full circumstances surrounding the incident and will include all their findings in a report for the Coroner. There is no further information.
