Attempted sexual assault - Darwin

NT Police are calling for public assistance after two women were assaulted in two separate attacks in Darwin City last night.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Kieran Wells from the Sex Crimes Divison said both assaults took place in Shadforth Lane within half an hour of each other.

“At approximately 12:00 am, it is alleged an unknown man assaulted a 21-year-old woman in Shadforth Lane by grabbing her around the neck. The woman was able to escape from the man and report the matter to Police,” Detective A/Senior Sergeant Wells.

“In a separate incident at approximately 12:30 am, an 18-year-old woman was sitting in a parked vehicle on Shadforth Lane when she was approached by an unknown man.

“It is alleged the man entered the vehicle and attempted to sexually assault the woman. She was able to fight him off and escape from the vehicle where she then reported the matter to Police.

“Investigations to identify and apprehend the alleged offender in these matters are a priority and we are seeking assistance from the public to help identify this man.”
