Assault and stealing - Alice Springs

Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 69-year-old man in Gillen this morning.

Detective Sergeant Janelle Snigg said the man was asleep in his vehicle on Bloomfield Street when he was dragged from his car by three men at around 2:00 am.

“It is alleged the offenders proceeded to assault the victim, causing him to lose consciousness.

“When he awoke his vehicle was missing, he was taken to hospital and received treatment for injuries to his face.

“The three male offenders are described as being of Aboriginal appearance, between the ages of 16 and 23. One of the offenders is described as being about 152 centimetres tall, approximately 16 years of age, solid build, short black hair and a chubby face. He was wearing a red t-shirt.

“The second offender is described as being 172 centimetres tall and was wearing a white singlet and a cap,” Sergeant Snigg said.

The victims’ vehicle remains outstanding and is described as a white 1997 Ford Falcon sedan with a white roof and red bottom section, QLD registration 528 RVM.  The vehicle is fitted with a grey bull bar and has a black louver fitted to the rear windscreen.
