Assault Alice Springs

Police

Detectives from the Southern Investigations Division are investigating the alleged assault of a 55-year-old woman in Alice Springs last night.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said the victim had been inside her parked vehicle, a silver and blue Nissan Terrano station wagon, at the KFC car park at around 9:30pm when she was approached by a woman.

“It is alleged the offender entered the front passenger seat of the victim’s vehicle and asked the victim to drive her to pick up some personal property,” Detective Superintendent Warren said.

“When the victim questioned this request, the female produced a knife and demanded she drive her out of the town area.

“The victim complied with the offender’s demands and drove to a community outside of Alice Springs.

“Anybody who may have witnessed the incident is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
