Arrests for Unlawful Entries - Alice Springs

Police

Police have arrested 34 people this month in relation to a number of unlawful entries in Alice Springs.

Superintendent Travis Wurst of the Southern Investigations Division said that members from the Property Crime Reduction Unit (PCRU) were targeting opportunistic thieves unlawfully entering homes from 1 April.

“PCRU members have arrested 34 people, sending them to court with appropriate charges,” Superintendent Wurst said.

“Police also arrested two people in relation to number of vehicles interfered with at a unit complex on Stephens Road on 27 March.

“Police received 15 reports of vehicles being interfered with throughout Tuesday night, with a number of small items stolen.

“I again urge all home and vehicle owners to secure your property. Thieves don’t care who lives in the house, or who owns the car; however they will take full advantage of unlocked property or anything that requires minimal effort on their part.”
