Detectives from the Sex Crimes Division have finalised their investigation in relation to an alleged Sexual Assault reported earlier this week.

Police received a report on Tuesday that a 17-year-old girl was the victim of a sexual assault by two men at a park near the Hibiscus Shopping Centre.

“Detectives immediately launched an investigation” said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Neil Hayes.

“Significant resources have been assigned to this investigation, but have resulted in insufficient evidence to support the allegation.”

“Police always take allegations of this type seriously to ensure community safety and will continue to do so.” Said Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Hayes
