Alleged indecent assault - Alice Springs

Police

Detectives from the Southern Investigations Section are seeking public assistance in finding a juvenile who allegedly indecently assaulted a 16-year-old girl on Friday.

Sergeant Janelle Snigg said the 16-year-old girl had just entered Kirk Place from Ashwin Street in Gillen, when she was approached by an unknown male shortly after 3:30 pm.

“It is alleged the unknown male approached the girl from behind and indecently assaulted her before running through a laneway to Nicker Crescent.

“The matter was reported to Police a short time later.

“Extensive investigations are continuing, including the interrogation of CCTV,” said Sergeant Snigg.

The unknown male is described as being of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 14-years-old, skinny build and around 160 centimetres tall with shaggy brown hair below his ears.  He was wearing blue basketball shorts and a blue t-shirt.
