Alleged Gun Thieves Arrested - Update

A fifth man allegedly involved in the theft of firearms from a supply store in Berrimah is in Police custody.

Acting Commander Matt Hollamby of Darwin Metropolitan Command said Operation Trident Detectives and general duties members arrested the man in Darwin at around 11am this morning.

“The 29 year-old man contacted Police to hand himself in.  He was taken into custody without incident.”

Acting Commander Hollamby said the man would be interviewed this afternoon before any charges were laid.

Investigations are continuing into the location of two outstanding firearms.
