Youths arrested for unlawful entry and stealing at SunFM Alice Springs

Police

Two youths aged 15 and 17 have today been arrested in relation to an unlawful entry and theft from an Alice Springs radio station at 4:40 am this morning.

Sergeant Trent Abbott said that the alleged offenders stole a flat screen television, two laptop computers and a framed Territory Thunder guernsey from SunFM/8HA on the Stuart Highway.

“I am happy to say that members from Operation Thresher have since recovered the stolen property, after utilising security CCTV footage and forensic assistance from the Crime Scene Examination Unit.

“A door knock was conducted in the area and assistance was given by members of the public to recover the property.

“Both youths are expected to be charged with Aggravated entry into a building with intent to commit an offence, unlawfully damaging property and stealing.”

Sergeant Abbott remarked that this should be a timely warning to anyone planning to commit similar property offences.

“Both Operation Thresher and Shiloh are providing a focused Police presence throughout the Christmas period in Alice Springs; we are vigilant and will catch you.”
