Police

Three males will face court after two stealing incidents in Palmerston over the weekend.

The offenders are alleged to have attended a party in Durack where they stole a gold watch, camera and phone before fleeing the area. They are then believed to have unlawfully entered a house on Maximillia Court via a back door and removed a handbag containing; money, jewellery and other personal items. The offenders fled the scene after they were disturbed by an occupant of the house who immediately called police.

About an hour later members from the Youth Crime Unit conducting patrols of the area located the offenders hiding in bushland on Kriewaldt Circuit in Driver. They were found in possession of the stolen property and conveyed to Darwin Watch House.

The 16 & 20-year-old offenders were charged in relation to unlawful entry and stealing offences and a 21-year-old man was later charged in relation to possess stolen property, unlawful entry and stealing offences.

The adults are due to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 11 February 2011 and the youth will appear in the Darwin Youth Court on 15 February 2011.
