Vehicle Crash - Pinelands

Police

A 27-year-old female remains in a serious condition in Royal Darwin Hospital after a vehicle crash that occurred in Pinelands yesterday.

It appears the woman was driving a Toyota Starlet in the outbound lane of the Stuart Highway at around 5:10 pm, when she collided with the back of a stationary Holden sedan at the intersection of Butler Place.

Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance members attended the scene and removed the trapped woman from her vehicle before she was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital.

The 55-year-old male driver of the Holden was uninjured in the crash.

Senior Sergeant Andrew Heath, Officer in Charge of Darwin Traffic Operations urges all motorists to be attentive when driving in peak hour traffic and to maintain a sufficient safe distance with the vehicle travelling in front of them. Everyone deserves to get home safely.
