Vandals Sought – Alice Springs

Police

Several reports were received of youths blowing up letter boxes in the Alice Springs area overnight and Police are urging anyone that may have information to come forward.

Police were alerted to a number of incidents that occurred along Bacon Street and Cora Crescent around midnight last night, in which letterboxes were destroyed using fireworks.

Michael Murphy, Superintendent of the Alice Springs Division said that people need to be reminded that this is not the idea of ‘good fun’.

“Not only is destroying people’s property in this way very dangerous, but it also amounts to a criminal act and once caught, offenders will be charged accordingly,” Superintendent Murphy said.

Anyone that may have witnessed the events, or who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area during that time, is urged to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
