An elderly man reported missing by his family on Wednesday has been located safe and well this morning in the bush, approximately 3.4kms from Emily Gap and 8.5kms from Undoolya Outstation. Adrian Hayes was last seen leaving his home in White Gate Camp last weekend. He was located at approximately 8.11am this morning - some 15.3kms from his home at White Gate Camp - after a search plane spotted him from the air. Flown by chopper to the Ross Highway where an ambulance was standing by, Mr. Hayes was transported to Alice Springs Base Hospital where he is currently being assessed. Police launched a full scale search and rescue operation on Wednesday after Mr. Hayes was reported missing. Helicopters, motorcycles, Mounted Police, ground line search members and Northern Territory Emergency Service Personnel all assisted in the extensive search. Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen praised the efforts of the search team. "This is a positive result borne from an excellent co-ordinated effort by all authorities involved" she said.
