Police can now confirm that a second person, a 78-year-old male, also died as a result of the vehicle rollover in Renner Springs yesterday.

A/Superintendent Craig Barrett said that further investigations led to the discovery of a second person at the crash scene.

“It appears that the male, believed to be the 38-year-old woman’s father, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash,” said A/Superintendent Craig Barrett.

“As a result of the rollover, he was ejected and located a distance of approximately 25 metres from the vehicle in thick grassland.

“Investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.

This now brings the NT road toll to 41 compared to 47 for the same period last year.
