Members from the Major Crime Section have charged a 42-year-old female in relation to a stabbing death that occurred in Palmerston on Wednesday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said that an altercation occurred at around 7:30 pm, resulting in the death of a 46-year-old man.

“It is alleged that during the altercation the woman stabbed the man in the upper leg. Police and Ambulance officers attended however the male died at the scene,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Malley.

“The woman was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with murder and remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrate’s Court today, 11 November 2011.”
