Following an extensive search around the Mount Gillen area today, missing man Kristoffer Wheeler has been found.

Police and NT Emergency Service members searched on foot, on motorbikes and in helicopters in an attempt to locate him.

Sergeant Shaun Gill said the man was found safe and well by Police at the Telegraph Station about quarter-past-two, after a report by a member of the public.

“It appears Mr Wheeler left his residence at around 10:30pm on Wednesday night and concerns were subsequently raised for his welfare.” said Sergeant Gill.

“Mr Gill is currently being medically assessed.”

“If it wasn’t for the help of NTES volunteers and the public, the outcome could’ve been different. I thank those people for giving up their time and participating in this search which ended with a great result.” Said Sergeant Gill.
