Police have arrested four people in relation to yesterday’s aggravated assault and robbery on a 16 year-old female in Nhulunbuy.

Two 18 year-old men and two youths, aged 16 and 17, are currently in Police custody, assisting with enquiries.

The victim was assaulted and robbed at approximately 5.20 am near the Peninsula Hotel on Matthew Flinders Way.

Detective Constable First Class Damien Barbe would like to thank the public for their excellent response in assisting Police in this incident.

"The outstanding assistance received from the public has resulted in Police bringing a quick resolution to this matter," said Detective Constable Barbe.
