Update 3: Death – Coolalinga

Police

Police will set up a Mobile Command Post on Girraween Road this afternoon for members of the public to call in to and provide any information they may have that could assist police with its investigation into the death of 25-year-old Levi Griffiths.

Levi Griffiths was found near the Stuart Highway opposite the United Service Station on Saturday morning in Coolalinga, but Police believe the crash may have occurred on Girraween Road, near Mahaffey Road in Howard Springs.

Initial investigations have lead to the possible movements of those involved in the crash and police believe they may have travelled towards Palmerston after the crash.

Police are calling for information from members of the public who, between midnight and 6:00 am on Saturday morning, observed a vehicle driving in a manner that brought their attention to it, or had obvious panel or windscreen damage, in the vicinity of Coolalinga, Virginia or Palmerston.

Witnesses who may have seen Levi Griffiths walking along Girraween Road between 12:00 am and 6:00 am on Saturday morning are also urged to contact police to determine his movements prior to the crash.

He was wearing black tracksuit pants, white shoes, and a black shirt with red panels down the sides. On the back of the shirt, in white writing, were the words "TEAM DYNAMIK"; which is a Holden shirt.

Police would like to thank the public for the significant amount of information that has been provided to date which has assisted in the progress of the investigation.

Anyone who may have any knowledge or involvement in this incident is requested to come forward as any information may assist police with investigations.

Investigations are continuing. As this investigation is a major crime, no further information is available.
