Police and members from the Emergency Service continue to monitor local rivers within the Daly River Region and specifically the Daly River Community.

The river remains high and is rising slowly. It is expected to reach, but not exceed, 14.6m at around 9pm tonight.

Water Police from Darwin have travelled to the area and assisted with the relocation of several residents after their homes were affected by water. Another eight residents will be evacuated from the area this afternoon due to medical requirements. At this stage no further evacuations are expected to be necessary.

The water level will be monitored throughout the day and further advice will be provided as it comes to hand.
