Update # 24 – Daly River

Police

Police continue to monitor local Rivers within the Daly River Region and specifically the Daly River Community.

The Daly River Road remains closed at this time.

The river is currently at around 13.95 metres at the Police Station, however with minimal rain throughout the day and expected throughout the evening, it is not predicted to rise beyond 14.2 metres by tonight.

Should the river rise beyond 15 metres, all residents will be evacuated from the immediate area to higher ground. The Local Controller has been working with the Community and NTES Unit Officer to ensure the Daly River Community is well prepared for any flood response that may be required.

The water levels at Dorisvale Crossing and Mt Nancar Crossing are both currently rising with readings of 14.6 and 16.4 metres respectively.

Douglas Crossing and Beeboom Crossing water levels are both falling with readings of 7.7 and 16.3 metres respectively.

The situation is being closely monitored and updated advice will be issued later this evening.
