Update # 2 – Woman Stabbed –Alice Springs

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to an incident in which a group of tourists were assaulted in Alice Springs at the weekend.

Police received a report that the two males and two females were set upon by a group of offenders just after 12.30am near Telegraph Terrace. During the assault a 29-year-old German woman was stabbed in the shoulder. Police investigations led to the arrest yesterday of an 18-year-old woman. She has been charged with a number of offender including two counts of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering serious harm. She has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on March 15.

Police have also issued two Comfits of the woman's co-offenders. The first man is described as being aged in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 180cm tall and having an athletic build.

The second man is described as being in his early 20s approximately 165cm tall with a thin build and wearing a white singlet. Both are of Aboriginal appearance.
