Police have charged a 43-year-old man in relation to the death of a woman in Alice Springs last week.

Rocky Manu was arrested last Wednesday night following the discovery of  the body of a 36-year-old woman at a unit in Bloomfield Street earlier in the day.

Detective Senior Sergeant David Richardson said police were appealing to anyone who might be able to account for the man’s movements in the days leading up to the murder to come forward.

“Mr Manu has been charged with murder and is in custody to face court today,” Det Sen Sgt Richardson said.

“In the meantime, we are appealing to anyone who has knowledge of Mr Manu’s whereabouts or who had dealings with him in the days leading up to the discovery of the body to come forward.”

An autopsy will be conducted today on the body of the victim.
