A determination made yesterday by the Counter Disaster Council regarding the attendance of non-essential Government employees at work, appears to have been misinterpreted in some sections of the community. To clarify, non-essential Government employees who can't find alternative care for their children that won't be attending school today are permitted to take a day's leave. Others are required at work as per usual to support the public sector, unless otherwise advised by their direct employer.
