Update # 1 – Woman Stabbed –Alice Springs

Police are appealing for public assistance following an attack on a group of tourists in Alice Springs at the weekend.

Police received a report that two men and two women were walking along Stott Terrace towards the Larapinta Drive Lights when they were set upon by three women and two men. One of the victims, a 29-year-old German female was stabbed to the back and punched, while the others in the group sustained bruises and lacerations after being punched and hit with an unknown object.

Police were told that all the assailants were of Aboriginal appearance. One of the men was wearing a white singlet while the other was wearing a dark singlet. Both had short dark hair.

The female offender who allegedly stabbed one of the victims is described as being approximately 165 cm tall and 80kg, wearing a dark shirt and her hair in a pony tail.

Another female offender was wearing a white shirt and dark shorts and thongs and was in her mid 20s. She had short hair with blond streaks.

A third female offender was wearing a blue shirt and black shorts with red stripes. She had a stocky build and was approximately 160cm tall.

The victims managed to wave down a taxi and fled from the scene to report the incident to police.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Billygoat Hill and the Royal Flying Doctor Service lawns between 12.30am and 1am on Saturday morning to phone 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
