Unlawful entry arrests – Alice Springs

Police

Two teenagers have been arrested in relation to unlawful entries in Alice Springs overnight.

In the first incident the two males, aged 19 and 15, allegedly unlawfully entered an occupied residence in Ballingall Street just before 1.30am. The male occupant was woken by a noise and found his wallet, phone and cigarettes had been stolen .

The offenders appear to have entered the residence, stolen the items and then rifled through the victim's car before being disturbed by a neighbour.

Police allege they then made their way to the Haven Backpackers on Larapinta Drive where they forced their way into the office. They then stole a master key and let themselves into at least two occupied rooms before being disturbed and running from the area.

Police located and arrested the pair a short time later.

They will be interviewed later today.
