Unlawful entry - Alice Springs

Police

NT Police are calling for public assistance after a home in Larapinta was unlawfully entered yesterday.

It is alleged that at approximately 2:00 am yesterday, unknown offender/s entered the home in Larapinta Drive, near the intersection of Milner Road, by forcing the front door open.

The offender/s stole a laptop, laptop charger and a wallet before leaving the house and running from the area.

Superintendent Michael Murphy continues to urge home owners to lock up and secure properties.

“It is important your home is secure as most of these crimes are opportunistic, with thieves finding open or easy to open doors and stealing transportable items of value, such as laptops.

“A dead lock and security screens on all doors is always a good barrier and deterrent to these opportunistic offenders. Breaking into people’s property or businesses and stealing their property is just not on.

“Information from the community has been great. Let’s solve this problem together.

“I urge members of the public to continue to report suspicious people or activity so we can identify, target and disrupt crime. Help us continue with the great results we have recently achieved through Operation Thresher which resulted in 35 arrests,” said Superintendent Murphy.

Police urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, or who may have any information in relation to the unlawful entry or stolen property, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
