Unlawful Entry - Alice Springs

Police

A resident on North Stuart Highway is happy that offenders who broke into his house on Tuesday morning were not safe crackers as well as house breakers.

The house was unlawfully entered sometime between 10.30am and 1.30pm on the 6th of December.

While in the house the offenders have ripped out a small valuables safe and dragged it into the backyard where they have made repeated attempts to gain entry but were unsuccessful.

The safe was discovered lying in the backyard of the house by the owner.

Detective Sergeant Trent Abbott from the Southern Investigations Section said the offenders had taken advantage of available items nearby to gain entry to the residence.

“They appear to have used tools from the building site next door to help them break in and to prise the safe from where it was located in the house.”

“Police are asking anyone who may have seen people acting suspiciously in the area at the time to contact Police on 131444 or call crime stoppers on 1800 333 000." Detective Sergeant Abbott added.
