Unlawful entries – Alice Springs

Police

Police are urging members of the public to lock up their homes following four unlawful entries that were reported in Alice Springs yesterday.

Local police are investigating the unlawful entries that occurred, three of which happened during the day at unlocked properties in the Eastside and Braitling areas.

Acting Commander Michael White is pleading with home owners to lock up and secure properties.

"It is disappointing knowing that three homes that were involved in these incidents were unlocked at the time.

"We work hard to arrest these offenders and to keep the public and their property safe.

"Needless to say it's quite frustrating when we attend these jobs, only to find the homes were unsecured at the time.

"Close your blinds and don't leave valuable items including mobile phones, laptops, jewellery and wallets on kitchen tables or anywhere in clear sight of would-be offenders.

"This is a timely reminder of 'Lock it or lose it', it is a simple as that," he said

Police urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, or who may have any information in relation to the unlawful entries or stolen property, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
