Two Deaths - Crash - Killarney - Update

Police

NT Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after a single vehicle crash that occurred at the Killarney Cattle Station on Friday night.

Initial investigations suggest the Land Cruiser utility was being driven on an unsealed access road when the driver lost control on a bend. The driver has tried to correct the vehicle but overcorrected it, causing the vehicle to roll numerous times before coming to a rest on all four wheels.

Police believe speed and the road condition contributed to the cause of the crash.

The 24-year-old female passenger has died as a result of the crash.

The 24-year-old male driver was found dead in the vicinity of the crash but his death is not believed to have occurred as a result of the crash.

The deaths do not contribute to the Territory road toll as they occurred on private property. The Territory road toll remains at 32.
