Alice Springs Police have charged two men aged 32 and 33 following an unlawful entry that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday morning.

It is alleged that two males smashed through a window to gain access to the Red Ochre Grill in the Todd Mall at approximately 4:00 am yesterday.

Acting Commander Michael Murphy said the two stole around $100 worth of alcohol and caused $500 in damage.

“Police attended the location shortly after receiving the report and whilst they were at the scene, a 32-year-old male offender walked back inside,” said A/Commander Murphy.

“He was arrested on the spot.

“CCTV Operators identified two co-offenders who were both located and arrested a short time later.

“The 32-year-old and 33-year-old males have been charged with unlawful entry and criminal damage. Further investigations are continuing.

“I again urge everyone to remain vigilant and to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 if you witness any suspicious activity.”
