Three Arrested after Serious Assault

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested three men in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at licensed premises in Mitchell Street. A man and a woman were allegedly assaulted during the incident.

Police allege two Hells Angels members aged 35 and 24 years, and a 21 year-old Hells Angels associate were intimidating patrons before the assault.

As a result Drug and Organised Crime detectives conducted search warrants in Coconut Grove, Fannie Bay and Girraween Road and arrested the men.

Detectives also served the 35 year-old with a ‘Warrant of Seizure and Sale’ seizing a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Holden Utility and two flat screen televisions.  The items were forfeited in order to recover monies owed by the offender to the NT Government.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said NT Police take a hard line against this kind of behaviour.

"Police will not tolerate acts of violence committed by Outlaw Motor Cycle Gangs or any other members of the community."

The men were charged with Aggravated Assault and Disorderly Behaviour and bailed to appear at the Darwin Magistrates Court at a later date.
