Theft of NT Emergency Service Equipment - Woolner

Police

In the lead up to Christmas, Northern Territory Emergency Service personnel are angered by the unlawful entry of the NT Emergency Service Darwin Volunteer Unit overnight.

NT Emergency Service spokesperson Troy Crilly said the offender/s appear to have used bolt cutters to gain entry to the Bishop Street demountable.

“Radios, GPS, laptops and other equipment was stolen,” said Mr Crilly.

“All the equipment that was stolen has been engraved and I urge anyone that may come into contact with the equipment to contact Police immediately.

“All unlawful entries and thefts are a low act, however this is just down right appalling. At the beginning of the Cyclone Season and with the chance of a Tropical Cyclone forming before Christmas, this couldn’t be worse timing.

“We need this equipment to be able to respond effectively and keep members of the community safe throughout the coming Cyclone Season.

“I again urge anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the Bishop Street area overnight, or anyone that may come into contact with the stolen equipment, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. You can remain anonymous and you may also be eligible for a reward.”
