Theft Arrest

Police

Northern Territory police have charged a 46-year-old man with stealing almost 170-thousand dollars from his employer.

It's alleged the man stole 167, 137 dollars while working as a project manager for a company in Nhulunbuy.

The alleged theft occurred between August and November last year.

Police say when the man was questioned by the company's finance department he fled interstate.

Earlier this month police say the accused man contacted officers and he returned to Nhulunbuy where he was arrested.

The man has been flown to Darwin and will appear in court tomorrow.
