General Crime Section Detectives are calling for public assistance after an unlawful entry and suspicious fire in Tiwi overnight.

It is alleged that the Tiwi Medical Centre on Rocklands Drive was unlawfully entered after an unknown offender smashed a window sometime during the night.

It is alleged that once inside the premises, the offender has set fire to the contents of a desk.  

The fire self extinguished but as a result, a desk, air-conditioning unit and carpet of the office have been destroyed. The building also suffered significant smoke damage.

General Crime Section Detectives, Fire and Rescue and Fire Investigators attended the scene today and investigations are continuing.

Police urge anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area or anyone that may have further information to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
