Katherine Police are investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found in the vicinity of Gorge Road between Katherine Hospital and the Katherine Gorge this morning.

Police received a report about 10:30 am from a member of the public who discovered the body.

A crime scene has been established in the vicinity of Gorge Road and one lane will remain closed until further notice. Please adhere to all traffic direction in place.

Detectives from the Katherine Investigations Section are investigating the death and no further details are available at this time.

Police are appealing to anyone with any information about the death or anyone that may have observed any suspicious behaviour in the area to call them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
