Stealing with Violence - Parap

Darwin Tactical Team members are investigating a stealing with violence incident that occurred on Sunday night in Parap.

Sergeant Alan Brown said it was reported that at around 10:15 pm a 62-year-old man was walking along Drysdale Street when he was approached by an unknown indigenous male.

“The man asked for a cigarette and before the victim was able to hand him one, he was struck to the head, causing him to fall to the ground,” said Sergeant Brown.

“The victim awoke on the road and walked to the Parap Hotel where he reported the incident to staff members, who in turn contacted Police.

“He later discovered that a small sum of cash and his mobile phone had also been stolen.

“Police conducted a search and a door knock of the area, however at this stage, continue to urge members of the public who may have witnessed the incident, to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
