Stealing and Fraud - Darwin

Police are releasing CCTV footage of a man believed to be involved in a number of stealing and fraud incidents in Darwin last week.



On 8 March at about 6:00pm the man is alleged to have entered Royal Darwin Hospital where proceeded to unlawfully enter a number of offices at the premises. During the incident the man stole an amount of money and a bank card before fleeing the area in a white Ford station wagon.



The stolen credit card has since been used at a number of businesses around Darwin.

Later in the day the man is believed to have attended Hibiscus where he withdrew a large amount of cash; the next day the man is believed to have attended Woolworths CBD, where he again withdrew a large amount of cash. Later that day the man was captured on CCTV attempting to use the stolen card to purchase laptops from a business in Stuart Park; however the card had been cancelled and was declined.

The offender is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 178 cm tall, 30 - 40 years of age with receding dark brown hair.



Members from the Casuarina Tactical Team are currently conducting further investigations and are calling for public assistance.



Sergeant Alan Brown is calling for anyone who can identify or know the whereabouts of the man to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.



"Members of the Casuarina Tactical Team are conducting extensive enquiries in an attempt to identity of the offender. Any assistance from the public would be greatly appreciated" he said.
